ONU to Dedicate New Pharmacy Student Lounge

Mar 24, 2009
The Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy will dedicate a new student lounge on the second floor of the Robertson Evans Pharmacy Building at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24. Construction of the new student lounge was made possible by a philanthropic investment by Giant Eagle Pharmacy.

Giant Eagle's gift to the Pharmacy Skills Enrichment Fund - a commitment made by the retailer one year ago - provided funding for the new student lounge and related partnership efforts between the two organizations. Complete with flat-panel television, microwave and wireless Internet connection, the 1,200-square-foot room will provide students with an area for studying and relaxing.

"We are very appreciative of Giant Eagle's philanthropic investment in the College of Pharmacy. This new student lounge gives our college a great venue to promote interaction between students and faculty, staff, and friends of the college. We look forward to our partnership with Giant Eagle in preparing current and future pharmacy students for service to the profession." commented Dr. Jon Sprague, dean of the College of Pharmacy.

"Education is a major focus of Giant Eagle's community donation efforts," said Randy Heiser, Giant Eagle vice president of pharmacy. "We're thrilled to help ensure that Ohio Northern University pharmacy students will continue to obtain first-rate educations, preparing them for careers of high-quality care and service."
