ONU receives $3 million gift from Beeler estate
Ohio Northern University has received a gift of more than $3 million from the estate of Eugene A. Beeler.
Beeler, who passed away in October of 2006, graduated from ONU in 1949 with a bachelor of arts and science degree and a major in accounting. Beeler was a certified public accountant and a founding partner in Howard & Beeler in Lima, Ohio, now known as Lentol, Violet Kientz & Co.
The distribution of the gift will be applied to ONU’s endowment fund and will benefit the ONU general fund, The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration and the Eugene A. Beeler, Herman and Nettie Beeler and Leota Beeler Endowment fund for student aid.
“We appreciate receiving this generous gift from Mr. Beeler, one of our most distinguished alumni,” said Dr. Kendall Baker, president of Ohio Northern University. “This donation will allow the university to continue to provide current and future students the necessary tools to excel.”
