Grant Funds Political Research

Dr. Rob Alexander, BA '94, associate professor of political science, and his students have received a $1,279 grant from the national office of Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honorary. The funds will help conduct research on the 2008 Electoral College.

Shaili Patel, a third-year pharmacy student from Mannheim, Ontario, Canada, co-authored the grant proposal.

This is the seventh consecutive year the chapter has earned money through the Pi Sigma Alpha grant program. In all, the ONU chapter has been awarded over $9,000 to conduct research projects, attend national political science conferences, sponsor award programs, and publish the annual student journal, "Politics From the Hill." The ONU chapter has been named an "outstanding chapter" by the national office twice in the past five years.
