Physics Students and Faculty Present Posters at OSAPS

ONU physics students and faculty presented posters at the 2008 Fall Meeting of the Ohio Section of American Physical Society (OSAPS) at Wright State University on Oct. 10 and 11, 2008.

Andrew Mayger, a senior mathematics major from Saint Clairsville, Ohio, presented research on the National Science Foundation-funded research he did this summer at Lehigh University involving defects in semiconductors.

Senior Craig Koontz, from Ottawa, Ohio, gave a presentation on substructures in clusters of galaxies.

Senior Brian Sacash, from Novelty, Ohio, presented on the NSF-funded research he did this summer at the National Radio Observatory.

Junior James Gallagher, from Medina, Ohio, gave a paper on the hemispheric solar cycle research he worked on this summer at the NSF-funded program at the National Solar Observatory.

Other students who attended the conference included senior Sonya Adas, from Waterville, Ohio; senior Lisa Meyers, from Leipsic, Ohio; and freshmen Mitchell Thayer, from Painesville, Ohio, and Stephanie Ash from Beavercreek, Ohio.
