Pharmacy Clinical Skills Competition
ONU Students' Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP) is congratulating Samantha Cunningham, fifth-year pharmacy student from Adena, Ohio, and Catherine Taylor, a fifth-year pharmacy student from Powell, Ohio, winners of the annual clinical skills competition. They competed against seven other teams, demonstrating skills in assessing patient information and current therapy, identifying treatment goals, and recommending a pharmacy care plan. A panel of evaluators determined the winner of the competition using the ASHP criteria provided.
The runner-up teams were Melody Hartzler, a sixth-year student from Harrison, Ohio, and Melanie Nicol, a sixth-year student from Plain City, Ohio, and the team of Kathryn Heimann, a sixth-year student from Parma Heights, Ohio, and Candi Gehret, a sixth-year student from Fort Recovery, Ohio.
Cunningham and Taylor will represent ONU in the National Clinical Skills Competition at the 2008 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting in Orlando, Fla. in December.
