Student Investment Group

ImageThe Student Investment Group was created in 1989 to help students learn how to invest by managing a portfolio. The primary mission is to meet our benchmark, Standard & Poor's 500. We strive to attain this mission by meeting two objectives: learning about stock investment through research and discussion, and maintaining the future existence of the group by selecting new members and maintaining a diverse portfolio. New Member Selection:

Each spring, invitations to apply are sent to all sophomores holding a 3.25 or above GPA. Members are then selected based on their application and an interview.

The Student Investment Group began its portfolio in 1989 with $35,000. Currently it is worth more than $240,000. Members meet every other week to discuss and make decisions regarding their holdings.
