"Toxic Torts: PFOA Litigation" to be discussed

"Toxic Torts: PFOA Litigation" will be the topic of a panel discussion at the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law Moot Court room (129) on April 20 at 11 a.m.

The event, sponsored by the ONU Environmental Law Society, is free and open to the public.

On the panel are Harry Dietzler and Ron Janke, as well as a representative from the Environmental Protection Agency.

Deitzler and his partners were recognized as "Trial Lawyers of the Year" for work in a precedent setting case involving recovery for victims of C8 groundwater pollution by corporate giant Dupont in the Parkersburg, W. Va., and surrounding areas. That settlement, valued in excess of $300 million, resulted in cleanup of six community water systems and the creation of the largest, most in depth, medically verified, community health study in history. Mr. Deitzler will be speaking on the DuPont C8 cases and general toxic tort representation.

Janke has practiced environmental law since 1974 and has served as the principal environmental lawyer for many companies. He has served on advisory committees of the U.S. EPA and the Ohio EPA. He is chairman of the Ohio Water Resources Council Advisory Group and a past chairman of the American Bar Association Business Law Section, Environmental Controls Committee.
