ONU AMA chapter captures two first place awards at national conference

The Ohio Northern University American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter garnered two first place finishes at the AMA national conference held in New Orleans.

The seven-member team from ONU took first in two of the three major categories, winning in best representation of conference theme and the marketing education requirement.

ONU entered a trade show where they competed against 36 other universities in creating and operating a mock trade exhibit for an evening. The exhibit was visited by the 1,200 conference attendees and more than 70 faculty advisors.

The ONU team was also one of nine chapters selected to provide a leadership session at the conference. These chapters are selected as model chapters from the more than 200 chapters across the country for outstanding performance in specific operational areas. The ONU chapter was selected to provide leadership session for its fundraising activities.

ONU AMA chapter attending the conference were: Brittney Blakely, a senior marketing major from Dublin, Ohio; Ashley Ewing, a sophomore marketing major from McComb, Ohio; Brandon Ewing, a senior technology major from McComb, Ohio; Brian Magee, a senior management major from North Canton, Ohio; Betsy Palmer, a freshman biology major from Massillon, Ohio; Pat Tehan, a junior accounting major from Springfield, Ohio; and Andy Vaske, a senior marketing major from Delphos, Ohio. Randall Ewing, associate professor of marketing serves as the advisor.
