Csuhran named national president of PRSSA

Melissa Csuhran, a senior communications art major from Mentor, Ohio was named national president of the Public Relations Student Society of America at the national convention in Nashville, Tenn.

This marks the second straight year an ONU student has held this prestigious position. Kevin Saghy served as national president of PRSSA last year.

PRSSA is a student extension of the Public Relations Society of America. PRSSA was founded in 1968 and has more than 9,600 members in 285 chapters at colleges and universities around the country.

Last year, Csuhran captured the "Altschul Champions for PRSSA Outstanding Internship Award." This award honors a PRSSA member who has achieved outstanding success in a public relations internship. It recognizes a student who demonstrates outstanding academic excellence in public relations and strong practical performance in the field.

Csuhran also received the Norman Fenichel Award that recognizes a PRSSA member who has achieved outstanding public relations and an excellent understanding of ethical conduct in the profession.

Csuhran and Barbara Tate, a senior communication arts major from North Kingsville, Ohio shared the National President's Citation that recognizes PRSSA members who exceed the expectations of everyone around them.
