Ohio Northern University takes special pride in its athletic facilities that contribute to the continued success of ONU student athletes.
Since the fall of 2004, the Dial-Roberson All-Events Stadium has been the home of the Polar Bears. The $6 million, 20,000-square foot facility boasts a seating capacity of 3,500 fans, as well as locker rooms and a state-of-the-art weight room.
Near the Dial-Roberson Stadium are the ONU Soccer Field, featuring one of the best playing surfaces in the region, and the ONU Outdoor Track & Field Complex, which hosted the Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships in 1991 and 2000.
In addition, the ONU Softball Field & Wander Field underwent renovations in the past few years, including the addition of two Daktronics electronic scoreboards to keep players and fans informed of the ongoing field action.
As the home of ONU outdoor tennis, the University Courts have underwent renovations to provide teams with stadium lighting and re-surfaced courts similar to those used in the U.S. Open Series. The Colonial Golfers Club, located just six miles from ONU’s campus, earned a 3 ½ star rating from Golf Digest and has been the home of ONU Golf for the duration of both the men’s and women’s programs.
Finally, the ONU Sports Center is an 18,000-square foot facility that houses a state-of-the-art indoor track and field facility; a 25-yard, six lane swimming pool; a 120-yard elevated running track; two weight rooms; an athletic training room; a dance and exercise room; a wrestling room; a gymnastics room; and two racquetball courts in addition to classrooms and faculty offices.
