Wind Orchestra concert to feature Mussorgsky’s ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’

The ONU Wind Orchestra will perform at 7 p.m. on Oct. 22 at Ohio Northern University in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for ONU faculty and staff, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students. The Freed Center box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone orders are accepted with American Express, MasterCard, VISA or Discover by calling 419-772-1900. Thomas Hunt, professor of music, will conduct this opening concert. The first half of the program will feature “Vision Fanfare” by American composer Eric Knechtges, “Musica Boema” by Czech composer Zdenek Lukas, “Overture for Band” by German composer Felix Mendelssohn, “October” by American composer Eric Whitacre, and “March of the Belgian Parachutists” by Belgian composer Pierre Leemans.

The second half of the program will feature “Pictures at an Exhibition” by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky.
