The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) Student Chapter of Ohio Northern University’s Raabe College of Pharmacy was named the 2011 Student Chapter of the Year at the 113th NCPA Annual Convention and Trade Exposition in Nashville, Tenn., on Oct. 10. There are currently 95 NCPA Student Chapters across the nation.
This marks the second consecutive year ONU has garnered this prestigious honor. The award criteria included commitment to community service, recruiting new members, promoting independent community pharmacy and advocating legislative action.

Homecoming 2011 begins Sept. 30
Ohio Northern University will celebrate Homecoming 2011 from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. All alumni, friends, family, faculty and students are welcome to attend.
With its “Peace. Love. ONU.” theme, Homecoming weekend will kick off on Friday, Sept. 30. The Pettit College of Law will host various sessions throughout the day, including the dedication of the Alumni Moot Court Room and a law donor recognition dinner.

Phi Beta Delta to host presentations
Phi Beta Delta, the Honor Society for International Scholars will host its first program at 7 p.m., Thursday Sept. 22 at 7:00 PM in the Dicke Forum. Students who took part in the Hanyang and Dankook programs in South Korea last summer will be presenting their experiences during the program.

College of Business Administration conducts student honor code ceremony

ONU to observe 10th anniversary of 9/11
Ohio Northern University has scheduled several events in observance of the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
On Thursday, Sept. 8, a moment of silence will be observed at the 11 a.m. chapel service in memory of those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. Rory Stauber, ONU’s interim chaplain, has written a topic-appropriate litany that will be read responsively as a part of the service.

SME scholarships awarded

Kappa Epsilon chapter honored at national convention
The Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy Kappa Epsilon chapter received the National Projects Excellence award for the 2009-11 biennium and garnered honorable mention honors as Outstanding Chapter of the Year Award for the 2010-11 school year at its annual convention in Phoenix.
