Ohio Northern University receives NACDS Foundation grant to conduct health fairs
The Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy was awarded a grant from the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Foundation in conjunction with the Million Hearts initiative to conduct area health fairs in March as part of the “Heart to Heart Community Health Fairs” campaign.

Gamma Lamda chapter of Epsilon Pi Tau named ‘Region 3 Chapter of the Year’
Ohio Northern University’s Gamma Lamda chapter of Epsilon Pi Tau, the international honorary society for professions in technology, received the Region 3 Chapter of the Year award during the William E. Warner Awards Program at the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association conference in Columbus, Ohio, on March 8.

ONU – Solve recognized in journal
The ONU – Solve Problem Group has been recognized in the journal Fibonacci Quarterly. The group’s solution to Problem B-1103 is published in the journal’s current issue in the article “Elementary Problems and Solutions.” In addition the group is listed among people/groups submitting correct solutions to Problems B-1101 and B-1102. Drs. Mihai Caragiu and Mohammad Zaki are advisors to the student group.

PR research paper to be presented
Alisa Agozzino, Ph.D., assistant professor of communication arts, and Candace Kaiser, a junior in communication arts from Bryan, Ohio, will present a paper, “Adding, deleting, and/or starting over: how social media has changed crisis communication plans in school systems,” at the 16th annual International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC), March 8 in Miami, Fla.

ONU to hold panel discussion on Human Trafficking
Ohio Northern University will present a panel discussion on “Human Trafficking: The Invisible Problem” in the Dicke Forum on Tuesday, March 12, at 11 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The panel will discuss the issue of human trafficking, exploring the criminal aspects of the trade in human beings and the impact of trafficking on victims. The panel also will look to raise awareness of the issue of human trafficking on campus and in the community, and to begin suggesting ways that everyone can help combat trafficking.
