ONU’s Phi Beta Delta International Forum presents 'Unexceptional: America’s Empire in the Persian Gulf'

As part of Ohio Northern University's Phi Beta Delta International Forum, Dr. Marc J. O'Reilly will give a presentation entitled "Unexceptional: America's Empire in the Persian Gulf" on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dicke Hall Forum.

Author of a forthcoming book of the same title, Dr. O'Reilly will discuss America's involvement in the Persian Gulf, comparing these experiences to those of the British, Ottoman and other empires in previous centuries.

Originally from Montreal, Canada, O'Reilly holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Connecticut and an M.A. in political science from Ohio University. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Sigma Alpha. With Patrick James and Nelson Michaud, he co-edited the "Handbook of Canadian Foreign Policy," and he has published articles in a number of international journals. O'Reilly also is a current assistant professor of political science at Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio.
