ONU Law Graduates All Pass February Ohio Bar Exam on First Attempt

Ohio Northern University's Pettit of College of Law graduates had a 100 percent pass rate for first-time applicants taking the Ohio bar examination. The test was administered in Columbus in February.

Of the 432 applicants, 283 applicants, or 65.5 percent, received passing scores. Of the 234 first-time applicants, 83 percent received passing scores.

David C. Crago, dean and professor of law at Ohio Northern, celebrated the accomplishments of the ONU graduates, "We are extremely proud of our students and their successful completion of the Ohio bar examination. This is the culmination of years of hard work, determination and self-discipline."

Last year, ONU graduates recorded the highest percentage of first-time applicants passing the July 2007 bar, with 95 percent of first-time takers passing the Ohio bar examination. Statewide, there were 1,094 first-time applicants, and 88.1 percent received passing scores.

The new attorneys will be sworn in during a special public session of the Supreme Court on Monday, May 12, 2008, at The Ohio Theatre in Columbus.
