Ohio Northern University to Host Poet

Tom C. Hunley, assistant professor of English at Western Kentucky University, will be the guest of honor for a poetry reading and celebration of the arts featuring the work of ONU students on Thursday, April 10, at 7 p.m. in the Wishing Well of McIntosh Center.

Hunley has published two full-length poetry collections, "The Tongue" and "Still, There's a Glimmer." His third collection, "Octopus," which has been awarded the Holland Prize, will be published later this year.

He is the author of three chapbooks, "My Life as a Minor Character," "Newspring" and "Losing My Luggage," as well as a collection of essays titled "Teaching Poetry Writing: The Five Canon Approach."

Hunley also is the founder and director of small poetry press, Steel Toe Books.

Free and open to public, this event is sponsored by ONU's department of English, the University's Committee of Cultural and Special Events and the dean's office of the College of Arts and Sciences.
