Community Chorus Seeks Members

The University Community Chorus of Ohio Northern University is accepting new members for the 2006-2007 season. Members must be in high school or older, and previous choral experience is a benefit, but not a requirement. Learning tapes are provided for those who do not read music. Rehearsal are Monday evenings, 6:45 - 8:45 p.m., and begin on Sept. 11, in the rehearsal hall of Presser Hall on the ONU campus.

The chorus performs three concerts per year, singing a broad variety of choral styles, both sacred and secular. The concerts for 2006-2007 will be Oct. 22, Dec. 17, and April 13, in the Snyder Recital Hall of Presser Hall on the ONU campus. This year's Christmas concert will be the Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah.

Dr. Denise D'Arca, professor of music and coordinator of music education, is the director of the University Community Chorus, and she is assisted by music education majors Julianne Brown, Kristen McDowell and Stephanie VanDerSluijs.
