‘About Face’ at ONU to Deliver Last Laugh Before Election

Oct 7, 2008
With the presidential election just days away, the Ohio Northern University's Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the political satire "About Face." The show debuts Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 8 p.m. with a pre-show discussion at 7:15 p.m. Subsequent performances will be Thursday, Oct. 30, through Saturday, Nov.1 at 8 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 1, and Sunday, Nov. 2, both at 2 p.m. All performances will be held in the Stambaugh Studio Theatre.

Adapted from Nobel Prize-winner Dario Fo's 1980s political farce, "About Face" is a fresh mix of comedy and political commentary. The play hinges on mayhem and mistaken identity, as the CEO of an automobile corporation undergoes reconstructive surgery following an accident and winds up looking like one of his factory workers. The mishap leads to a farcical web involving political corruption, international terrorism and multinational finance.

Tickets are $15 for general admission. The Freed Center box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone orders are accepted with MasterCard, VISA or Discover by calling 419-772-1900. Tickets are also available online at
