Heterick Memorial Library accepts donations of worthwhile, useful books and other materials. Such gifts become the sole property of the library to use or dispose as the case may be. All such gifts are acknowledged, but donors who wish tax deductions for their gifts to the Heterick Memorial Library must obtain their own evaluation and supply it along with their gifts.

To donate items, please follow these procedures.

1. Please check POLAR to ensure that the library already does not have a copy.

2. Submit a completed copy of the gift form to the Acquisitions Dept., Heterick Memorial Library. You will be notified of the items that can be accepted.

3. Keep the returned form for your records.

4. Call Paul Logsdon, #2182, to make arrangements for the transfer of those materials that will be accepted.

If the value of your gift will exceed $5,000 and you wish to claim an IRS deduction, you MUST file a copy of form 8283, Noncash Charitable Contributions, with the IRS. Copies of this form can be obtained via IRS web site or from the library director.

Since you can claim a deduction only for items actually added to the library's collection, please be sure to follow steps 1-3 above. You will be notified of which items have been retained by the library.
