Ohio Northern University law professor Michael Lewis will take part in a national debate on the constitutionality of using drone strikes to kill American citizens abroad. The Intelligence Squared U.S. (IQ2 US) debate takes place on Wed. March 5, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pa. The debate will be streamed live on FORA.tv and recorded for broadcast on more than 220 National Public Radio stations nationwide.
Lewis will be joined by famed attorney Alan Dershowitz, Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, in supporting the proposition, “The president has constitutional power to target and kill U.S. citizens abroad.” Arguing against the motion will be Noah Feldman, Bemis Professor of International Law at Harvard Law School, and Hina Shamsi, Director of the American Civil Liberties Union National Security Project. John Donvan of ABC News will moderate the debate.
