Department of English Reading Series featuring Jennifer Pullen
The Department of English Reading Series is pleased to welcome fiction writer Jennifer Pullen, assistant professor of creative writing at Ohio Nothern, for a reading, reception and Q & A on Tuesday, November 14th.
Jennifer Pullen originally hails from the woods of Washington State. She received her BA from Whitworth University and her MFA from Eastern Washington University, before going on for her PhD in Creative Writing at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Her fiction and poetry have appeared in journals and anthologies including: Going Down Swinging (AU), Cleaver, Phantom Drift Limited, Off the Coast, Gravel, Clockhouse, Prick of the Spindle, Blink-Ink, and Behind the Mask (Meerkat Press). Both her scholarly work and her fiction tend to focus on myths, fairy tales, and science fiction. She is particularly interested in the ways in which environmental studies and gender studies intersect with non-realist narratives.
The event will begin at 7pm in the Elzay Gallery of Art, preceded by a 6:30pm reception. The event is co-sponsored by the Department of English and Polaris Literary Magazine. The event is free and open to the public.
