Event Location:

Please join us for Ada Chats, a joint program of Heterick Memorial Library and Ada Public Library. Brian Phillips, Dr. Michael B. Loughlin, and Dr. Shane Tilton will all present at this final program of the 2016-2017 academic year.

Brian Phillips, technical director of the Freed Center, will discuss the use of technology in contemporary theatrical production, pulling directly from his experiences working on "War Paint" at the Goodman Theatre. "War Paint" is scheduled to open on Broadway in April of 2017.

Dr. Michael B. Loughlin, professor of history, will discuss his recent book on the French socialist then national-socialist Gustave Herve. Although Herve switched his views throughout his life, there were certain continuities which help to make sense of his political odyssey and uncover the logic of political language and rhetoric.

Dr. Shane Tilton, assistant professor of multimedia journalism, will present a discussion on the role of a decentralized citizen journalism movement, focusing on the last decade and the role of social media.
