All students in the department are required to complete a year-long senior design project.   Each project team researches an open-ended problem statement, develops a proposal, designs a prototype, validates the design, produces a deliverable, and reports the results.   As part of the experience, students deal with various management issues and technical aspects of design.   Both industry- and faculty-sponsored projects are offered; you can find out more by following the links below, where all aspects of project documentation are available on each team’s website.   Our "truly interdisciplinary" approach provides valuable real-world experiences and prepares our graduates for their industrial careers.
