Website Instructions for Content Contributors
Website Updates: August 2015
The main ONU website now features a responsive, mobile-friendly design, and you should keep in mind that many users will be viewing the information that you post on a variety of different-sized screens. You can test this feature by simply making the size of your browser window smaller or larger until the formatting changes.
The website now features a publishing workflow and a review process for submitted information. If you are going to edit an existing page, the older "Edit" tab has been changed to a "New Draft" tab. Clicking this "New Draft" tab will allow you to edit the page as you would have before, and you can click the "Save" button to see your changes. However, clicking the "Save" button will not publish your updated page; it only saves your page as a draft. After you have reviewed the draft of your page, you can change the status to "Needs Review" by using the small form in the workflow or revision status box and clicking the "Apply" button.
After you change the status of your draft to "Needs Review" and click the "Apply" button, an email will be sent to the Communications and Marketing staff to notify them of your submitted changes. After reviewing your changes, they will either publish your document or send it back to you for further changes.
As part of the workflow system, you will be able to revert your own documents to a previous version. So if you make a mistake, you will be able to access up to five older versions of your document.
