September 11 Commemoration Ceremony
Date and Time:
Wednesday, September 11, 2013 - 10:03am to 10:30am
Chapel Gardens (English Chapel Sanctuary is rain location)
This year's commemoration will take place on September 11, 2013 at 10:03 a.m. This time is symbolic, because it is the time that the last plane, Flight 93, crashed in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, due to the heroic efforts of the passengers on that flight. It is believed that their actions in bringing down the plane saved untold numbers who would have perished otherwise.
The service will begin with the tolling of the chapel bells commemorating the moment that Flight 93 went down, and will last approximately 1/2 hour. Chaplain David MacDonald will lead the ceremony and clergy from the Ada area are being invited to participate in the program as well.
