Thursday, Aug Tropical storm Emily was a bust. A few of our hours yesterday were spent filling about 30 sandbags, picking up everything from the floors on the bottom level, and cleaning off debris from the roof in case of the flood. Thankfully this wasn’t necessary and the storm rerouted to Haiti (not so thankfully for the Haitians). Everyone here at Clinica Christiana is safe and the threat of the storm hasn’t stopped any of us from having an awesome time. ...

About NWB

What began as a routine medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic, is now a campus-wide movement to connect ONU students with international service opportunities. Founded in 2010, the mission of Northern Without Borders is to plan, develop and implement student-led service work in underserved areas around the globe.

Now, thanks to Northern Without Borders, ONU students will bring about change for others as well as for themselves. In 2010, 41 students, faculty and staff members traveled to the Dominican Republic for one week, completing a total of 15 clinics. This year, nearly 100 students, faculty, staff and alumni from various disciplines will complete a total of 36 clinics over the course of three weeks.
