A Journey Ending
"It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters in the end" -Ernest Hemingway
Who knew that a 43-day adventure could change your life? When we embarked on this choir tour, I was excited to see all the sites, sing at some great churches for great people, and maybe make some new friends in the choir that were just acquaintances before. Well all of that happened, except it was 10x the experience I thought it would be. And now, on the 43rd day of this whirlwind adventure, we have our last two performances together as this group.
In a little while, we will head to the OCDA Annual Conference and showcase some of our best pieces that we have performed on this trip. Then we will head back to Ada, Ohio, unpack everything that is hiding away on our bus, and perform our final concert from the comforts of our own stage, the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.
It's going to be really strange going home tonight to wake up in my own bed, not surrounded by people who have become some of my best friends. If you are able, please come to Freed tonight at 8pm to experience the last performance by the University Singers under the direction of Dr. Ben Ayling. It's a fabulous show and you won't want to miss it!
