As a graduate of Ohio Northern University, Adam Fahncke, BA ’12, BSBA ’12, holds undergraduate degrees in music and business management. While a student at Ohio Northern, Fahncke studied piano with the late Rosemary Williams and with Dr. Rebecca Casey. In addition to completing required coursework in business and music, he was selected as an accompanist for two University choral groups and as well as an accompanist for private instrumental and vocal lessons and juries. While an undergraduate student, Fahncke developed a strong interest in orchestral conducting. He served as the student conductor for the University’s symphonic orchestra, leading the orchestra in both rehearsal and concert settings for approximately three years. As a student, Fahncke also traveled to Estonia to perform with the Ohio Northern University Singers. He was the recipient of the Ohio Northern University’s President’s Leadership Award for four years and was awarded the Valerie Wilson Piano Scholarship for outstanding accompanist in 2010 and 2011.
After graduating, Fahncke attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and studied orchestral conducting with Edward Dolbashian. Prior to moving to Columbia, Mo., to complete his graduate education, Fahncke was actively involved in various musical activities from an early age, playing trumpet and piano in school, church and community activities in his hometown of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and surrounding communities. He was actively involved in assisting the now former music director of St. Joseph’s Church, his home parish. Although he holds the position of director of music ministry at St. Joseph, he has a strong interest in collaborative piano and is both happy and excited to be working as an accompanist at his alma mater, Ohio Northern University.
