Lift Your Glass

ImageRecently, Umar Sulayman, ONU instructor of Arabic, took his students to a middle eastern restaurant in nearby Findlay, Ohio. According to Mr. Sulayman, “Our students enjoyed the experience and learned a lot about food in the Middle East. The owner of the restaurant was the one serving us, and he explained to the students the different ingredients in the dishes.” As part of their cultural introduction, the students learned to drink the famously strong Arabic coffee from a "Finjan," a small cup used for expressly for coffee.
