2017 District Science Day

The Ohio Academy of Science District Science Day 2016 will be held at Ohio Northern University on March 18, 2017.

Open to any student from grade 5 through high school. **Note:  This year a limited number of grade 5 and 6 students will be able to attend State Science Day if they receive a superior ranking at District Science Day.  All questions should be directed to Dr. Jay Mager, District Science Day Coordinator by calling 419-772-2325 or by email.

What are science days or science fairs?
Science days or science fairs are occasions for the display and evaluation of student-originated, inquiry-based scientific research projects. A successful science day program will achieve several student-learner objectives:

  • Enhance self-concept
  • Develop inquiry and problem-solving skills
  • Develop creativity
  • Improve organizational ability
  • Develop both written and oral communication skills
  • Improve in-depth knowledge of science
