New Honorary Inducts Members

First members to a new national honorary, Studia Socialia Americae, for students in the social studies and for those who hold state certification in the area, were inducted during Honors Day. The organization was created by Dr. John Lomax, professor of history, in 2006-7.

This year ONU became Studium Premum (the first studia) of the organization. Charter members are, front from left, Joy Kessler, a senior from Republic, Ohio; Gretchen Hull-Morris, lecturer in history; Ellen Sondergelt, a senior from Beavercreek, Ohio; and Ashley Reiff, a senior from Elida, Ohio. Back row, from left, Brian Hoefel, a junior from Akron, Ohio; Dr. Michael Loughlin, professor of history; Matt Fox, a senior from Cardington, Ohio; Jesse Kill, a senior from Elida, Ohio, and Dr. Russ Crawford, assistant professor of history.
