Schedule of the day:

When does the day start?

Registration takes place on Sept. 11, 2014, from 8 to 8:30 a.m. in the main lobby of Freed Center for the Performing Arts. The opening session begins at 8:30 a.m. in the main theatre of the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

What sessions will be available?

There will be updates and information sessions concerning private, public, and two-year colleges and universities, financial aid, college counseling 101, access organizations, the College Board, ACT, and Ohio Board of Regents.

When is the college fair portion of the day?

The college fair is from 1:00-2:15 p.m., and it will take place in the field house of King Horn Athletic Center.

Can I take a tour of campus?

There will be campus tours available during the session times. 

Site and transportation information:

Can I register on site?

Yes. Both guidance counselors and admissions representatives wishing to register on site may do so in the main lobby of the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

Where and when do guidance counselors check in/register?

Guidance counselors can register between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. in the main lobby of Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

Where and when do admissions counselors check in/register?

Admissions representative registration will take place in the ONU Sports Center (King Horn Athletic Center), which is the site of the college fair. Admissions representatives can check in throughout the morning.

Where should I park?

We suggest that ALL articulation participants park in Lots J and O by the ONU Sports Center (King Horn Athletic Center).  The college fair will take place here in the afternoon, and this will provide most convenient parking to carry materials from the college fair site to your car at the beginning or end of the day.  Shuttles will be available at the beginning and end of the day to transport articulation participants between Lots J/O and the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

How far will I have to walk? Will there be shuttles available?

Walks between buildings are ¼ mile or less. Shuttles will be available at the beginning and end of the day to transport articulation participants between Lots J/O and the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

What buildings will I be in on campus?

Morning sessions will be held in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts and McIntosh Center. Lunch and the college fair will take place in King Horn Athletic Center.

Lodging and food:

Are there quick places to stop for breakfast before the event?

In Ada, there is a McDonald’s on Main Street, north of campus at Lincoln Avenue. At the main entrance of campus (on Main Street, south of Lincoln Avenue) is the campus coffee shop, Northern on Main. A third option for a quick, hot breakfast is the Four Seasons Drive-Thru on Main Street, north of campus and just one block north of Lincoln Avenue, at the intersection of Main and Buckeye.

What do I need to do to reserve a room at the University Inn under the special articulation rate?

In order to receive the special rate of $89 a night at the University Inn on Ohio Northern’s campus, please tell the receptionist that you are coming to campus for the OACAC Articulation. In order to make your reservation, you can call the Inn at 419-772-2500.

DIRECTIONS TO OACAC ARTICULATION AT OHIO NORTHERN UNIVERSITY

FROM NORTH:
Take I-75 S to exit 145 (Ada/ Mt. Cory); turn left onto SR 235 S.  Continue south on SR 235.

To Sports Center (college fair site and admission rep registration): From SR 235 (Main St), you will come to a stoplight with McDonald’s on your left and the post office on your right; turn right onto Lincoln Ave at this stoplight.  The King Horn Sports Center will be on your left, at which you may drop off materials; shuttles are available to take you to the Freed Center for the Performing Arts for the opening session.  Parking is suggested in lots J and O, with additional parking in lots E, F, G, H, P, and T (all lots are along Lincoln Ave).

To Freed Center (opening session and guidance counselor registration):  From SR 235 (Main St), the main entrance of campus will be on your right, at the intersection of Main St and College Ave.  Turn right onto College Ave, and continue until the road dead ends into the Freed Center.  Parking is available in lots C, D, and I.

FROM SOUTH:

Take I-75 N to exit 125 (Lima/Kenton); keep right onto SR 309 E.  In about 13 miles, you will turn left onto SR 235.  Continue north.

To Sports Center (college fair site and admission rep registration):  From SR 235 (Main St), you will continue through downtown until you reach a stoplight with McDonald’s on your right and the post office on your left; turn left onto Lincoln Ave at this stoplight. The King Horn Sports Center will be on your left, at which you may drop off materials; shuttles are available to take you to the Freed Center for the Performing Arts for the opening session.  Parking is suggested in lots J and O, with additional parking in lots E, F, G, H, P, and T (all lots are along Lincoln Ave).

To Freed Center (opening session and guidance counselor registration):  From SR 235, the main entrance of campus will be on your left, at the intersection of Main St (SR 235) and College Ave. Turn left onto College Ave, and continue until the road dead ends into the Freed Center.  Parking is available in lots C, D, and I.

FROM CENTRAL OHIO:

Take I-270 NW to US 33 W toward Marysville/SR 161.  Take SR 31 N exit toward Kenton, continue right on SR 31.  Continue for about 30 miles until you get to Kenton.  Turn left on SR 309 (Franklin St).  Take SR 309 W to the intersection of SR 235; turn right onto SR 235.

FROM NORTHEAST (directions from East Cleveland):

Take I- 271 S; then I-71 S to US 30 (exit 176) toward Mansfield.  Take the ramp onto US 23/US 30; continue to follow US 30 (NOTICE:  the last 10-15 miles of US 30 closest to Ada are NEW, and your GPS may lose you; continue on US 30 until you hit SR 235).  Turn left at SR 235 S, and continue until you reach Ada.
