The Ohio Northern University Alumni Jazz Band will present a concert on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Ohio Northern University. The concert will feature musical selections that pay tribute to the late Maynard Ferguson. The Alumni Jazz Band was founded in 1991 by Dr. Edwin L. David C. Crago, dean of the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law, is the recipient of the 2007 Legal Educator Award. Crago received the award because of his contribution to the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA), the lawyers of Ohio, and the public for his leadership on the OSBA Judicial Campaign Advertising and Monitoring Committee. Ohio Northern University will be conducting its Academic Honor Scholarship recognition day Saturday, Jan. 27th. This is the third of four on-campus scholarship evaluations days that attract high ability applicants. These events involve many on campus as well accepted students who have achieved excellence in their respective high schools. Beginning in 2007, Ohio Northern University students will hear from renowned lecturers in the life sciences, thanks to the Keiser Distinguished Lectureship in Life Sciences Fund. Norman J. Rex, educator and Ada community leader, was named Distinguished Citizen of the Year at the 41st annual Town and Gown Banquet Monday night. A 1956 graduate of Ohio Northern University, Rex taught industrial arts at Ada High School before completing graduate work at Ohio University, Athens. Ohio Northern University will present O.A.R. (….of a Revolution) at the ONU Sports Center on Saturday, Oct. 14. A ceramic exhibit by artist Jack E. Corle, a 1978 Ohio Northern University alumnus, is currently on display at Ohio Northern University’s Elzay Gallery of Art through Oct. 6. Corle received his master of fine arts degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology, he went onto become an associate professor and co-director of the University of Findlay art department, where he remains today. Ohio Northern University alumnus Clayton L.
