Bob Peterson, award-winning director and screenwriter for Pixar Animation Studios, will be the featured speaker for the Ohio Northern University Spotts Lecture in the Sports Center Gym at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 15. The event is free and open to the public. Amy (Widner) Murray, who graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1995 with a degree in environmental studies, has been named the recipient of the 2009 William L. Robinson Young Alumni Award. This award is given each year to an individual who is committed to Ohio Northern, his or her profession, and the community. The $10 million invested with Westridge Capital Management was from the General University Endowment and will not affect any individual scholarship or program endowments held by the University. The senior capstone project by four ONU civil engineering students, all now 2008 graduates, has won first prize in the 2009 Student Structural Design Competition, sponsored by the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). As part of ONU's Polar Bear Nation year-long series of events and activities, alumni are invited to participate in the upcoming Campus Book Project.
