Recommend a Polar Recruit

Every year, students visit and apply to ONU due to the recommendation of an alumna, alumnus, parent, faculty, staff member or current student. What if each of us recommended at least one high school junior or senior a year?

We ask that you think about those who might be impacted by your story and how you might connect with them this year to personally encourage them to consider ONU.

Your first step? Pick your “Polar Recruit” today!

Register your “Polar Recruit.” Give Admissions the details of the high school junior or senior you’ll focus on, and we’ll make sure your student is on ONU’s radar screen.

Share your experience! We know the benefits of an ONU education and what it means to be a Polar Bear. Let’s share this experience with others and grow our polar pride.
  1. Invite them to visit … or bring a group to campus.
  2. Encourage them to apply. For deadlines and application information, click here.
  3. Connect them to our amazing concerts and events with student life.
  4. Treat them to a Freed Center event.
  5. Take them to an ONU athletics event.

Growing up, I wanted to follow in the footsteps of my aunt and become a pharmacist. So when the time came for me to look at colleges, I asked her about her alma mater, Ohio Northern University. I wasn’t sure I wanted to attend a smaller school, but after visiting ONU and comparing it to the larger schools I was looking at, I knew it was right for me. My experience thus far has been truly amazing. I understand why my aunt is such a proud Polar Bear to this day, and I know why I am too.
