OBJECTIVES

• Discuss the new requirements for controlled substance prescriptions issued electronically.

•  List DEA requirements on prescribing controlled substances for maintenance or detoxification.

• Discuss the requirements under Ohio law for pharmacist continuing education.

• Discuss the requirements of faxing controlled substance prescriptions.

• Discuss recordkeeping and dispensing issues in a case based format.

• Discuss recent changes in Ohio pharmacy laws and rules.
