Repeat Policies
Coursework cannot be counted twice towards hours required for graduation unless the course repeatability is specifically indicated in the course description.
All grades remain on the student's official academic record and transcript.
Only the coursework taken at Ohio Northern University is used in calculation of grade point average.
In the undergraduate colleges, except as specifically noted by the College of Pharmacy, if a student repeats a course, except those that may be repeated for credit, only the last grade earned is used in calculating the student's grade point average and applied toward graduation requirements.
For courses that may be repeated for credit, the student is responsible for knowing the total maximum credit allowed in courses that may be repeated for credit.
For example:
- "MRKT 4961: Can be repeated as the topic varies." This indicates that there is no limit in counting the credit towards graduation so long as each time the topic is different from all previous enrollmnets.
- "ART 2651: May be repeated 2 times."
- "ATTR 4401: This course may be repeated 2 times. This couse is repeatable for a total of 2 hours."
