Broadcasting and Electronic Media

Learning Objectives.

1. Able to identify communication systems in society
2. Demonstrates knowledge of communication process relating to broadcast and electronic media
3. Able to utilize skills in basic audio and video production as recognized by broadcast radio and television facilities
4. Demonstrates knowledge of strengths and weaknesses of communication process relating to broadcast and electronic media.
5. Demonstrates proficiency in broadcast and electronic Media writing skills as recognized by broadcast radio and television facilities
6. Demonstrates proficiency in advanced audio production skills as recognized by broadcast radio and television facilities
7. Demonstrates proficiency in advanced video production skills as recognized by broadcast radio and television facilities
8. Be firmly grounded in knowledge of past, present and future systems of communication, in particular, electronic media
9. Be proficient in the use of oral, written and technical communication skills necessary to enter the field of electronic media
10. Able to analyze electronic media use in society

Measures

An evaluation of audio and video and corporate PRODUCTION PROJECTS using criteria sheets indicates student performance on audio and video projects.

The evaluation of the SENIOR CAPSTONE EXPERIENCE is utilized to determine the degree to which students have obtained the learning objectives for the major.

The department utilizes an ALUMNI SURVEY as an assessment measurement tool.

The evaluation of the INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE is utilized to determine the degree to which students have obtained the learning objectives for the major.
