WebCT Course Design Support

Welcome to online teaching at Ohio Northern University. This page is meant to provide support to faculty designing online courses. Our Course management system is Blackboard Learning System CE 8 which we also refer to as "WebCT CE 8." You can log-into WebCT CE 8 at http://webct-new.onu.edu using your Luminis ID and password. A luminis account should have been assigned to you when you entered the university. If you need assistance, please send email to help-desk@onu.edu.

With an upgrade, WebCT 6 became WebCT 8 . The interface remained essentially the same.

Be sure to go through the Check Browser link on your MyWebCT page after logging in with your Luminis ID and password. If you need an older version of Firefox browser, try downloading from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

There is an online forum for asking questions about WebCT. It is called Ask Dr. C.

ONU currently has one Online Instructional Course Design Specialist: Nathan Oliver. You can contact him for WebCT support and training. He also serves as the WebCT administrator and can assist with issues that arise from a course not being brought over from Banner correctly. Please email ed-tech@onu.edu for assistance.

Solving Log-in and missing My Computer icon problems:

A note about anti-spyware software. It may block a session cookie from being set within your browser's cache, which is required for log-in. If you are not able to set an exception for WebCT's url (http://webct-new.onu.edu) within the anti-spyare software, you may need to uninstall it from your computer in order to be able to use WebCT.

1. Java update, clear java cache and clear browser cache (6:10 min)
