Message from the Business Dean
Welcome! The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration at Ohio Northern University is the place to attend if you are looking for a quality, application oriented business education. Our reputation is nationally recognized by the most rigorous business accreditation from AACSB International. If you are motivated and thrive in a "can-do" environment where success is the expected outcome, then this is the place for you. Here's why:
Our mission is to develop business and civic leaders for a changing world who are ethical, entrepreneurial, and engaged. Your success is our focus. Personal attention, "active" and hands-on learning opportunities, and mentorship are the hallmarks of our student experience. Each entering freshman can be assigned a student mentor who is a junior or senior in the college. This mentoring arrangement is designed to facilitate the freshman’s transition from home on to the ONU campus and into the college. We also attempt to provide each student who desires one, an “external” mentor, a successful business manager or executive, who in most instances is also an alumnus of the program. These external mentors provide guidance and advice to our students that helps facilitate their entry into the world of professional business.
Our curriculum is current and highly applied. We partner with the business community, many of whom are represented by our alumni, to develop and evaluate our curriculum to assure that we are meeting the demands of our students and the business community that hires them.
Our faculty are dedicated teachers, scholars, mentors and friends. The majority have terminal degrees (Ph.D. or J.D.), are current in their respective disciplines and many have business experience as entrepreneurs or managers in public companies. Students are not just numbers to them!
Our graduates leave prepared. They are accepted into prestigious graduate programs and are hired by top employers. Our alumni are leaders in business and industry, the not-for-profit community, and government.
Learn More. Come visit us in our new, state of the art James F. Dicke Hall - 35,000 sq. ft. of the very essence of "high tech" instructional space.
