Acheampong, a fifth-year pharmacy student from Columbus, Ohio, William (BJ) Gaddis III, a fifth-year pharmacy student from Hudson, Ohio, Todd Sega, a fifth-year pharmacy student from Edinboro, Pa., and Chris Westrick, a fifth-year pharmacy student from Defiance, Ohio, will take part in the NACDS (National Association of Chain Drug Stores) RxIMPACT Day, March 10-11, in Washington, D.C.

Ohio Northern University’s American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) chapter has received the 2010 APhA-ASP Project CHANCE Award to help fund the “Remember Your MEDS: Medication Education Delivers Success” program. Only ten APhA-ASP chapters in the country will be awarded $2,000 for outstanding work.
The ONU chapter is focused on improving medication adherence at Allen County Health Partners in Lima through education, counseling, pill boxes, timers, refrigerator magnet reminders, calendar stickers, handouts, phone calls and text messages.

Steven C. Anderson, CEO of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS), will be the inaugural speaker for the Sebok Pharmacy Lecture established by the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy. Anderson will deliver his lecture, “Pharmacies: Changing the Face of Neighborhood Health Care,” on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

More than $3,500 for breast cancer research was raised in this year's Stefanie Spielman Walk/Run for Breast Cancer, held Oct. 10 as part of Homecoming Weekend.
The annual event, hosted by Ohio Northern's chapter of Kappa Epsilon and the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP), brought more than 190 participants to ONU's Green Monster on a chilly and foggy fall morning. The event is a 10-year tradition on campus.
