Pharmacy Student Named to National Council on Pharmacy Management
Ashley Overy, an Ohio Northern University fourth-year pharmacy major from Grafton, Ohio, has been appointed as the national student representative to serve on the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ “Council on Pharmacy Management” for the 2010-11 academic year.

Pharmacy Students to Visit Capitol Hill
Patrick O. Acheampong, a fifth-year pharmacy student from Columbus, Ohio, William (BJ) Gaddis III, a fifth-year pharmacy student from Hudson, Ohio, Todd Sega, a fifth-year pharmacy student from Edinboro, Pa., and Chris Westrick, a fifth-year pharmacy student from Defiance, Ohio, will take part in the NACDS (National Association of Chain Drug Stores) RxIMPACT Day, March 10-11, in Washington, D.C.

APhA-ASP Chapter Receives National 2010 APhA-ASP CHANCE Award
Ohio Northern University’s American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) chapter has received the 2010 APhA-ASP Project CHANCE Award to help fund the “Remember Your MEDS: Medication Education Delivers Success” program. Only ten APhA-ASP chapters in the country will be awarded $2,000 for outstanding work.
The ONU chapter is focused on improving medication adherence at Allen County Health Partners in Lima through education, counseling, pill boxes, timers, refrigerator magnet reminders, calendar stickers, handouts, phone calls and text messages.

Sebok Pharmacy Lecture to Host CEO of NACDS
Steven C. Anderson, CEO of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS), will be the inaugural speaker for the Sebok Pharmacy Lecture established by the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy. Anderson will deliver his lecture, “Pharmacies: Changing the Face of Neighborhood Health Care,” on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

Rich Boyd Awarded NCPA Scholarship; College of Pharmacy Honored
Richard Boyd, a fifth-year pharmacy student from London, Ohio, and a member of ONU's National Community Pharmacists Association's (NCPA) Student Chapter, has been awarded an NCPA Presidential Scholarship for the 2009-2010 academic year from the NCPA Foundation. Boyd is one of 18 students awarded the presidential scholarship.
