Environmental Studies

WHETHER IT’S ENERGY, BUSINESS, AGRICULTURE, CLIMATE OR URBAN GROWTH, IT’S CLEAR THAT HUMAN SOCIETY HAS A COMPLEX RELATIONSHIP TO THE ENVIRONMENT. ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES IMPACT MANY CAREERS AS WELL AS OUR JOBS AS CITIZENS. AN ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES MINOR AT ONU WILL GIVE YOU THE NECESSARY TOOLS TO CONNECT THIS IMPORTANT TOPIC WITH YOUR MAJOR AND LIFE BEYOND ONU.

WHAT IS THE ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES MINOR?

ONU offers the environmental studies minor through the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, which allows you to examine contemporary environmental issues from several disciplinary perspectives across campus. Because of this interdisciplinary nature, the minor fits well with nearly every available major as well as the general education requirements. So, if you’re interested in addressing current and future environmental challenges with creative, interdisciplinary solutions in policy, science, technology, engineering, humanities and business, the environmental studies minor provides a solid foundation.

When you add an environmental studies minor to your university experience, you can choose classes that fit your interests and life goals, including courses about organismal biology, biodiversity, environmental issues, natural history, religion, policy, environmental ethics and law.
