Bachelor of Music in Performance
The Bachelor of Music in Performance degree is designed for the student who has the desire to achieve a level of professional and artistic competence in a particular applied study area. The emphasis is on the development of all of the resources required to be an effective performer and teacher in the chosen applied study area, and to provide essential background in all other areas of music pertinent to the profession. Our master class programs consistently bring world-renowned guest artists and performers to our campus to work directly with students.
Bachelor of Music in Music Education
The Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree is designed for the student with the ability, desire, and determination to become an outstanding music teacher. The program allows the ONU graduate to be licensed to teach instrumental, vocal and/or general music, Kindergarten through 12th grade, in the state of Ohio.
Bachelor of Arts in Music
The Bachelor of Arts in Music degree is designed for the student who has a deep passion for music and wants to study the field with a broad knowledge and understanding of music, it's history, cultural impact, and it's performance practices.
Students pursuing this degree must either complete one of the following:
- Applied Studies
- Music History and Literature
- Music Theory and Composition
- Minor in Administration Arts
Music Minor
The Music Minor is designed for the student who is inspired by music and wishes to further that inspiration with practical experience and knowledge. The minor allows for some flexibility in course work and ensemble participation.
