Wind Orchestra Germany Trip 2010-2011
The ONU Wind Orchestra traveled to Germany May 2011 for a nine-day tour, including five concerts in four cities in southern Germany (Amberg, Laupheim, Wangen and Stuttgart) and sight-seeing visits to Würzburg, Nürnberg, Dachau, Ulm, and the Alps. At each concert site, a school or a local wind band will host the Wind Orchestra. Four of the overnights were with host families, and four were in youth hostels.
Dr. Thomas Hunt, director of the ONU wind Orchestra, and his wife, Angelika; Dr. James Walter, ONU professor of modern languages; Dr. Bob Ruble, ONU vice president for financial affairs, and his wife, Marilou; and Dale Laukhuf, ONU lecturer in music, and his wife, Marcia traveled with the ensemble.
