Lloyd is currently Resident Artist and Music Director of the Musical Theatre Program and Symphony Orchestra at Ohio Northern University. He is also the Music Director/Conductor for the Lima Area Youth Orchestra. Previously, Lloyd was the founding conductor of the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra. He led this orchestra through a successful gala season and received praise from the Chicago Tribune: “A conductor who made some impressive results.” While holding this post, he has worked with many great artists including Broadway star Karen Mason, from Mamma Mia. Lloyd has collaborated with many well known conductors and Broadway musicians including, Larry Blank, conductor and arranger for the Oscars, Tom Kochan, Broadway musical arranger and composer, and Glen Daum, Warner Brothers composer and arranger. At ONU, Mr. Butler has been Music Director for Jekyll and Hyde, Grease, Children of Eden, Into the Woods, The ONU Holiday Spectacular, Brigadoon, Once Upon a Mattress, Mozart’s Magic Flute, and Beauty and the Beast. Lloyd just recently conducted the Lima Symphony Orchestra with Judy Collins and the Firelands Symphony Orchestra in Sandusky, Ohio. This past winter, Lloyd was Guest Conductor for the Jullian Carillo Symphony Orchestra in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Lloyd is a member of the American Symphony Orchestra League and CODA-College Orchestra Directors Association and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Ohio Northern University and a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University.
