Integrated Mathematics (7-12)

Teacher candidates in Integrated Mathematics complete an approved program of coursework, field experiences, and other requirements leading to the application for an initial Four-Year Resident Educator Ohio Teaching License for grades 7-12 Mathematics. Candidates major in Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics (http://www.onu.edu/a+s/math/).
All teacher candidates complete required coursework as well as extensive field experience in which the candidate collaborates with university faculty and PK-12 classroom teachers and students to develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to become a competent teacher.
Coursework includes general education classes such as English, history, philosophy, art, music, science, and others, as well as professional education coursework in culture and schooling, adolescent development, exceptional learners, technology, curriculum, classroom strategies, methods of teaching, and more. In addition, candidates spend time throughout the program in local classrooms completing professional experience requirements.
