Hypertension Review

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize and discuss the etiological factors that contribute to the development of hypertension.
  • List the basic monitoring parameters for drug therapy based on drug mechanisms.
  • Explain potential adverse reactions based on pharmacologic mechanisms of the agents used in the treatment of hypertension.
  • Outline the standard treatment protocols based on pharmacological mechanisms for treating hypertension.

  • Discuss recordkeeping issues related to the practice of pharmacy in Ohio.
  • Review recent changes in Ohio and federal pharmacy law.
