Leadership in the Workplace by Susan Lettrich
The speaker this month is Susan Lettrich. Susan is a seasoned executive with over 28 years of work experience primarily in the electric utility industry. Susan earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Ohio Northern University in 1985 and a Master of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Case Western Reserve University in 1990.
Susan attributes her career success to her ability to integrate and leverage the technical and analytical expertise cultivated from the foundation she received in her engineering studies at ONU with an understanding of financial statements and financial problem solving from which she draws upon her MBA courses taken at CWRU. Susan has held a variety of positions in the electric utility industry from which she has built a portfolio of expertise. Some examples are industrial sales; federal regulation and pricing of transmission; Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) development; corporate performance planning and management; regulatory reporting; rate case testimony and strategy; performance and process Improvement. Her most recent
position was Director, Business Analytics leading an internal consulting group that performed financial, performance, process and strategic analysis to create solutions for operational and shared services groups across the enterprise of a Fortune 200 company.
Susan also has extensive experience in merger integration serving on major business unit merger teams in two separate mergers. In this role, Susan was instrumental in identifying and quantifying merger synergies, building strategies, determining organizational alignment structures and staffing levels, aligning processes and developing change management plans to ensure the success of the newly merged companies.
Susan leverages her leadership experience in her role as a member of the Ohio Northern University College of Engineering Advisory Board - a position she has held for 16 years. Susan married her college sweetheart, Phil Lettrich, a member of Ohio Northern Universityʼs College of Pharmacy Advisory Board. Susan and Phil reside in Kirtland, Ohio with their two children, Brian (16) and Caroline (14).
