Pamela Ashmore, a native of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, holds a Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance from Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, Ohio) and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (Eau Claire, Wisconsin). Professor Ashmore has been on the Piano Faculty of Ohio Northern University (Ada, Ohio) since 1999 and has 28 years of teaching experience including UW-EC, BGSU and a Private Studio in the Bowling Green area. Some of her students have gone on to study at such institutions as Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana
As a performer Pamela also maintains a strong collaborative presence at Bowling Green State University’s College of Musical Arts. At the CMA she frequently accompanies Guest Artists, Faculty and Students, most recently performing with the BGSU Wind Symphony and the 2009 Saxophone Camp. She was an accompanist for the 2007 International Horn Competition of America and a guest artist with the 2006 Ohio International Trumpet Guild.
An avid chamber musician, Pamela also performs in Northwest Ohio and lower Michigan as a member of the group Mirepoix, a trio of flute, clarinet and piano. She enjoys offering new and varied music to audience members, from small chamber ensembles to solo recitals.
Pamela has been rehearsal accompanist for Toledo Opera, Toledo Symphony Chorale, Michigan Opera Theatre, and the Michigan Bach Festival. She has also served as Répétiteur and Rehearsal Pianist for Piccolo Opera of Detroit, Coach/Accompanist for the Toledo Opera’s Summer Opera Camp, and Music Director for Toledo Opera’s Family Concert Series at Wildwood Metro Park in Toledo.
